NORTH Albury’s flagging spirits look set to be bolstered by the inclusion of key backman Alex Popko and Murray Bushrangers duo Anthony Miles and Tom Holman for Sunday’s first semi-final against Wodonga Raiders at Albury Sportsground.
Popko has been declared a certainly to return from a hamstring injury, while Miles and Holman are expected to be called up after the Bushrangers bowed out of the TAC Cup finals at the weekend.
“‘Poppers (Popko) was close against Yarrawonga and will play,” coach Travis Hodgson said.
“He’s vital to our set-up.
“It’s too early to say who will come in or go out, but after a 100-point loss they will certainly be considered that’s for sure.
“Anthony Miles and Tom Holman are good young players and will definitely be looked at.”
Popko broke down in round 16 against Wangaratta Rovers.
Wodonga Raiders are also expected to be strengthened with Murray Bushrangers ruckman Jon Ceglar and forward Adam Cook (ankle) looming as the major inclusions.
Ceglar and Miles were both in the Murray Bushrangers best players in their 100-point loss to North Ballarat in the fourth elimination final at Visy Park on Saturday.
