WANGARATTA Rovers recruit Brendan Sessions is taking nothing for granted as he launches his Ovens and Murray career at the W.J. Findlay Oval.
Despite the fact that he has topped 100 goals in four of his six seasons with Ovens and King league heavyweight Tarrawingee, Sessions said yesterday he was no certainty to play full- forward.
“I’m not sure where I’ll be playing,” Sessions, 24, said.
“It could be a bit of everywhere.
“I was looking for a change and, living just around the corner from the Rovers’ ground, it made it a bit easier to decide with the travel factor.
“It will be good.”
It is believed that former Hawk and Tarrawingee coach Mick Wilson also played a role in Sessions deciding to sign with the club.
Sessions’ biggest haul in the Ovens and King league was 141 majors and he and fellow recruit Justin Hoggan look set to be given first crack at key forward posts.
He was also approached by Wangaratta and North Albury.
Meanwhile, Wangaratta ruckman Michael Hooper is yet to decide his playing future.
Magpie officials travelled to Melbourne last week in a bid to sway his return to the Norm Minns Oval and expect to know more about his plans in coming days.
He has been linked to several Melbourne-based clubs including Sunbury.
