Albury United girls gearing for more success

IT’S all systems go at Albury United with the club confirming its coaches for its female teams.

Dave Smith has been appointed for a third year as senior women’s coach, while Dave Lansdown has been appointed as both reserve women and under-14s coach.

New to the club is Clayton Blissett, who will take the reins of the Division 3 team.

And Karen Meredith and Keely McLaren will be the co-coaches of the under 12 girls team.

Greens president Chris Rochford said the club was excited about its prospects with such a quality team.

“To secure these five coaches is a huge asset for the club,” he said.

“Dave Smith is keen to build on player development programs introduced in 2010 by again challenging for the league championship.”

United&rsq uo;s female teams had a successful season last year.

The seniors finished fourth in the championship, the reserves won the championship, the Division 3 team finished second and won the cup final, the under-14s won the double and the under-12s finished runner-up in both.

Preseason training for the seniors will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30pm at Jelbart Park.

The draw will be published next week.
