THE James Fallon High School squash team became state champions after winning the New South Wales Combined High School knockout finals at Thornleigh.

Consisting of Jordan Stewart, 17, Pat Middleton, 17, Ashley Thorman, 17, Brendon Thorman, 15, and Mitchell Boswell, 17, won all its pool matches before defeating North Coast team McLean High School in last week’s final.

The boys dropped only one match on their way to becoming NSW champions.

All members of the team play at the Lavington Panthers Squash Club and four of them represented Riverina at the recent NSW Regional Championships.

Stewart was subsequently picked in the NSW team that defeated Queensland for the first time in five years.
