IT was as much good luck as good management that saw Wodonga Raiders secure some of football’s biggest names for their season launch on Saturday night.
Brownlow medallists Jason Akermanis, pictured right, Robert Harvey and Robert ‘Dipper’ DiPierdomenico and Western Bulldogs legend Doug Hawkins will be guest speakers at the sportsman’s night and on hand to present youngsters their jumpers.
“The guys were coming to town to hold some school clinics and gave us a call to see if we had anything on that we could use them for,” football manager David Nichol said.
“It worked in perfectly with our jumper presentation so we jumped at the chance to give the event a bit of a boost.”
Akermanis, Harvey, DiPierdomenico and Hawkins will hold a clinic at the Raiders Sports Club on Sunday.
