Talented juniors to hit Masters

12 Jan, 2012 12:00 AM
SOME of the best junior golfers in the state will hit Wodonga over the next two days, with the Wodonga Junior Masters kicking off today.

Thirty-three promising talents will contest the 36-hole event, with performances likely to influence state selection for this year’s national championships.

Yarrawonga duo Frazer Droop and Mitch Davis shape as strong local chances, with the pair both playing off scratch.

Murray District young guns Jayden Walker and Zach Murray will also fancy their chances, with the pair of Wodonga golfers set to use their local knowledge on their home course.

Meanwhile, Murray Downs youngster Emily Smith — who has a handicap of three — will lead the charge in the girls’ section.
