TEN young girls will get the experience of a lifetime on Friday when they travel to Melbourne to watch the Australian Women’s Golf Open.
Thurgoona junior co-ordinator Penny Graeber will take a busload of 10 girls and 10 women to Royal Melbourne to watch local star Lindsey Wright in action against the nation’s best golfers.
Graeber said the experience would be one the girls would never forget.
“We got some tickets from Golf Australia to take them down and we’ve got some girls and ladies going down to watch the Open which we are all looking forward to,” Graeber said.
“We’ll hopefully get down there to watch Lindsey and some of the other players.
“The whole idea is to promote girls golf and encourage them to start playing.”
The tournament starts tomorrow.
