NORTHS and SS & A Magpies clash in a possible preview to this year’s Hockey Albury-Wodonga women’s division 1 grand final today.
While Norths have been the benchmark, SS & A has been quietly climbing up the ladder to sit second on the table.
SS & A boasts the players capable of keeping Nan Latta scoreless and they will have to be vigilant as most teams have paid dearly for a brief lapses in concentration.
Latta has developed a reputation for being able to take off from the centre line and score a quick reply from the hit-off, while teammate Janessa Leggatt also stands as a threat.
SS & A&rs quo;s defence, led by Danielle Martin and Melanie Browne, will be trying hard to maintain the status quo.
United is a chance to record its first win of the season when it plays Wodonga.
Wodonga only won by a goal last time they met and will need to have their best team on the park to keep the dangerous United line-up at bay.
Falcons’ men have a tough ask to continue their winning way when they play host to NASC Wombats.
NASC gained confidence from last week’s win against Norths and have the ability to match Falcons’ speed.
SS & A will prove too strong for Norths and the Wodonga versus United game will be a real test for both teams.
A win to United could see them back in the finals hunt at the expense of Wodonga, while a win to Wodonga will give them a five-point break.
