THE annual Howlong invitation triples classic began yesterday and continues today.
It has attracted a top class field with bowlers from as far afield at Canberra, Melbourne and Echuca taking part along with a large contingent of teams from the Riverina and North East.
One of the teams vying for success is from Weston Creek and skipped by Terry McInnes.
McInnes, a former skip for the ACT, has an affinity with this area and won the Howlong tournament in 2010.
Several years earlier he was successful in an invitation triples tournament held at Walla.
Last year’s tournament was won by Allan Pantling, Norm Honey and Howlong greenkeeper Adrian Pantling.
The runner-up last year was a team from Barooga skipped by Gordon Rothe and he is hoping for success this year.
