ALBURY-Wodonga found the going tough, but it didn’t detract from a “terrific” under-19 Victorian softball championships that were held at Jelbart Park over the weekend.

Albury-Wodonga Softball Association president Keith Quinn said the championships proved to be an outstanding success despite the Border outfits missing out on glory.

“It went really well, the grounds were in terrific shape and we got a lot of great feedback,” he said.

“The Albury-Wodonga teams didn’t make the finals but they were very competitive.”

Teams from Melbourne once again dominated the tournament, with Casey winning the men’s title as well as the women’s B-grade section, while Waverley won the women’s A-grade event.
