THE Lavington Panthers capped off a stellar weekend by announcing coach Josh Cale will lead the club until the end of 2010.
Cale has made a massive impact at Greenfield Park in his debut season, securing the services of former Sydney Roosters teammate Joey Williams and leading the Panthers to the top of the Group 9 table.
The powerful front-rower said he was thrilled to be locked in for another year.
“I’m really enjoying it. The boys are making it easy for me,” Cale said after yesterday’s victory over Kangaroos.
“It’s only my first year so I’m still learning, but the club has shown it’s happy by sticking with me, which is great.
“It’s a rough gig when you lose but it’s great when you teach someone something and they go out there and do it.”
Cale came to Lavington as an untried coach from the Port Macquarie Sharks.
He has previously had stints with the Sydney Roosters, Canterbury and Celtic Crusaders.
