Warner signs with Durham

27 Feb, 2009 01:00 AM

DAVID WARNER is set to play alongside two England Test players at Durham this year.

Warner has signed a Twenty20 deal with the county side and will represent Durham in England's domestic tournament. He will join pace bowler Steve Harmison and fellow England Test player Paul Collingwood during the competition in May and June. Australia's campaign to retain the Ashes starts two months later.

Warner will join Durham after the IPL in May. He is not expecting to play for the county outside the Twenty20 tournament.

Durham already has a No.1 international - West Indian Shivnarine Chanderpaul - for their first-class season.
