Hunting of ducks serves a purpose

Hunting of ducks serves a purpose

16 Mar, 2010 01:00 AM
IN reply to a letter from Miss Elese Cox (The Border Mail, March 12), about duck hunting. How do you know what most Aussies think — have you phoned or emailed them?

The shock of being hit with dozens of pellets generally kills the ducks quite quickly.

Ducks can breed out of all proportion so need to be thinned out.

Do you eat fish? They are left to suffocate to death in the hulls of ships.

Mutton are stunned and then their throats are cut.

What clothes do you wear? Are your shoes plastic, do you wear any rayon, under-arm spray or hair spray? All of these items have a long-term effect on our wildlife.

But I do respect your compassion.

— MARK EDEN,

Bright
