Informal vote gained attention

26 Aug, 2010 01:00 AM
IN reference to Sussan Ley’s denial of a high number of protest informal votes in Farrer.

I for one voted informally, deliberately, last weekend, as a protest.

I understand how to vote correctly, as this was my first informal vote.

I felt that due to the fact that this was a particularly boring election campaign and that I reside in a very safe Liberal seat, that my protest vote, would get more attention than a formal vote ... and it did!

It’s a pity we don’t live in a more marginal seat, where both parties can’t promise enough.

I will state again what I stated in writing on my ballot paper: Cancer centre now!

Lavington
