IN light of the well considered and clearly articulated comments by Amanda Duncan-Strelec in regard to Greater Hume Shire (The Border Mail, Wednesday 5), I call on the council of Greater Hume Shire to begin immediate discussions with Wagga council with a view to amalgamating before the 10 years is up.

We in Greater Hume do not want to be “absorbed”!
