The La Dolce Vita food and wine festival in King Valley promises a weekend of grazing and tasting tomorrow and on Sunday.
Thirteen family- owned wineries from Boggy Creek and Brown Brothers to new labels LANA and Eminence & Redbank will be the focus for live music, games, kids’ activities and, of course, food.
Natalie Pizzini, from Pizzini Wines, said Italian food had been the point of difference for the festival since it started 10 years ago.
“Yes we’ve got wine but the food — a lot of heart and soul and warmth go into the preparation,” she said.
She said the valley had been buzzing as the wineries geared up.
“The valley looks so beautiful at the moment — the vibrant greens, the blues of the mountain. I’m pretty sure we’re going to have good weather,” she said.
Ms Pizzini said bookings were not required and visitors could pay $15 for a tasting glass they could take to each winery.
The glasses can be bought on the day or from the Wangaratta Visitor Information Centre. A shuttle bus will run from Wangaratta, Beechworth and Albury.
