Several years ago during the drought I contacted the Lake Hume dam authority to find out how much water they release and then the Albury Council about how much of that water we use.
Well from memory we used a lot less than 1/1000th of the water released and I estimate Wodonga would be no greater.
They want us to reduce our 1/1000th so they do not charge us more but what about the people who use the other 99.999 per cent of the water, like irrigators. Are they going to be asked to reduce their consumption? No.
Don’t you love governments that slug all the little people rather than solving the problem.
