In his first match for the club in more than a decade, Morrison showed he will still be a handy acquisition by making 32 before the home team was bowled out in the final over of the day.
Greg Schuller (52), Mark White (38) and Grant Forrest (33) also batted well.
Forrest said Morrison would be a welcome addition.
“Alex is back in the area and it was good to have him back at the club,” Forrest said.
“Hopefully we get a few games out of him.
“Our score was probably about par but a lot better than last week.”
Osborne is in a commanding position against Holbrook after the Brookers collapsed with the bat.
