What happens on tour stays on tour, or does it?
The trip away for sporting clubs is getting bigger and bigger, with planning starting as soon as the last one is finished.
There are some incredible stories I could tell but I’ll leave most of those for another day.
I won’t leave you hanging, completely, though.
There was this one time at band camp ... actually it was a bus trip to Melbourne for Country Week.
It was 11am, the sun was out and everyone was excited to be heading to the big smoke.
My now St Pat’s teammate Braedon Hensel was sitting directly behind East Albury quick Cameron White on the bus and all of a sudden just outside of Glenrowan Braedon, who unbeknown to us had had a big night, started to feel a bit off colour.
The consensus was to wait until we were in Ned Kelly country to give him some fresh air, timing I’m not proud of.
As you guessed, Braedon didn’t quite make it to Glenrowan.
As he grabbed a newspaper to try to catch the orange and yellow chunks coming out of his mouth, he missed a couple which made their way to the back of Cameron’s head in front of him.
As you know I love a good joke and prank, but I’ve never laughed so hard in my life and it is something that will never be forgotten.
The trip away can bring out the best and worst in people.
But one thing is certain, it’s always messy.
