Lindsay Hanchett said about 8000 people were expected at Willow Park.
He said there was a back-up plan to move the event to the Wodonga Senior Secondary School in case of rain, but the forecast was for showers to clear.
“We expect it to clear by lunchtime. We’ll move only if there’s an electrical storm or the SES says it’s too dangerous,” he said.
“People won’t let rain spoil their carols.”
With a talented mix of returning performers including Yasmin Powell, and a few performing for the first time, it should be a great night from 6pm.
Mr Hanchett said the rehearsals had been excellent and the experience had been invaluable for the Bandiana Primary School choir.
“They’re very enthusiastic. It’s great to give them experience in front of a large audience,” he said.
“The stage was set up today, and most of the venue is ready to go.”
