But in an addition there will be two major firework displays, one at the earlier time of 9.30pm for families.
Organisers have spared little to satisfy an expected crowd of 2000, spending more than $30,000 on the night.
They have brought in three Melbourne cover bands who will play hits from Meat Loaf, Bruce Springsteen and The Eagles.
There will also be carnival rides, food stalls and free face painting for children.
Federation Festival Committee president Gary Poidevin said the decision to double the fireworks came after comments from families who said it was a struggle keeping the young children awake.
He said this year bringing your own alcohol would be banned.
Instead, drinks could be purchased on site, with proceeds going to the Corowa-Rutherglen Football Netball Club.
Mr Poidevin said he hoped to see most of the town, as well as plenty of visitors to the region, celebrating the new year together.
The evening begins at 6.30pm, with entry costing $10 for those 16 years and over.
Children are free.
