Fresh from winning the Victorian Par 3 Amateur Championships at Kyabram, the plus-one handicapper backed up by winning the 36-hole tournament by four shots from Barham’s Andrew Kane.
“It was good fun,” Schneider said yesterday.
“I love the sandgreens.
“I guess it’s always good to defend a title and doing it twice in a couple of months is great.”
Schneider started the day two shots behind Horsham leader Scott Boschen but stormed home with a blistering 68 to score a runaway victory in a field of 103 players.
Thirty of the players had a handicap of four or less.
“My game was fairly solid over the two days,” he said.
“It’s good to get away and play on the sand.”
