The team of Neville Aylmore, Bob Walsh, Conan and Noel Trainor had a 26-10 win against another North Albury team.
The outcome seemed assured after Trainor’s team established an 11-0 lead after six ends against Phil Schuster, Lloyd Ronan, Cyril Fruend and skip Bill Jones.
Jones’ team won four of the next five ends but trailed 11-5.
The score was 14-7 after 13 ends before Trainor sealed victory by getting eight shots on the next three ends.
Each team won two ends from that point on.
The game was called off after 20 ends as Trainor had secured an unbeatable lead.
The association has its opening round of pennant scheduled to start this weekend in the various grades.
