ANOTHER 31 villas are planned at the Hume Country retirement village in Glenroy, Albury.
Site owner Coral Rain Pty Ltd has sought planning consent to lay out a second stage of development to complement the 32 villas already occupied.
The village for the over-55s occupies part of the former Hume Country Golf Course between Logan Road and the Black Springs Creek.
A master plan approved in 2008 allows for 250 to 270 villas to be developed in stages.
The next batch will extend development towards Freyer Street and just below a motel and the former golf clubhouse, now a community centre with a swimming pool.
Much of the former golf course is now built on for the Hume Country Estate, accessed from Union Road, which is now in its second 52-lot stage of development.
A third development, a 90-bed nursing home in Logan Road to replace Japara’s Albury and District Nursing Home in David Street, is approved but is yet to be started.
