Really?
Is the company saying the blackout had nothing to do with SP Ausnet’s infrastructure being completely incapable of meeting consumer demand?
While we are on the subject of consumer rights, it’s about time that power companies started offering huge discounts to pensioners and disabled people during heatwaves or cold snaps.
Working in aged care and disabilities I have witnessed many clients not using airconditioning or heating as they feel it is too expensive.
How many people have died doing this?
Power companies have a “duty of care” to look after the aged, frail and disabled, otherwise they should rightly be facing court action and huge fines, something our politicians should be looking into.
