Superstar forward Brendan Fevola plans to travel to Italy in late August to attend the ceremony where McFadden will marry international DJ and recent Dancing With The Stars contestant Vogue Williams.
The wedding will be held in Florence on September 2 — the same weekend as the first round of Ovens and Murray finals.
It means Fevola, who has booted 70 goals in 10 games for the Pigeons, is likely to miss Yarrawonga’s first final should the Pigeons fail to finish on top of the ladder and earn the week off.
While there are still six rounds left in the season, top spot looks set to be decided at Albury Sportsground on August 4 when the Pigeons take on the Tigers.
In a bid to further boost Yarrawonga’s chances of winning that game, Fevola says he will play.
Although he’s booked to leave Australia on August 28, Fevola wouldn’t rule out cancelling his trip should Yarrawonga need him in the first week of September.
But that’s not his plan.
“We’ll work it all out if it happens,” Fevola said.
“We just need to keep winning to stay on top.
“If we do, it won’t be a problem.”
Fevola, who said he’d known McFadden for a while, had his friendship with the pair of Irish celebrities strengthened further while competing alongside Williams on Dancing With The Stars.
“I’ve known Brian for a while and, yeah, we get on well,” the two-time Coleman medallist said.
“The same with Vogue.
“We were lucky enough to get a gig at the wedding.
“It’ll be nice to get over there at this time of year.
“Hopefully I can get a bit of a tan up.”
Fevola will play against Myrtleford at home today.
He booted 12 goals, his biggest haul for the Pigeons, last time the two sides met.
The Saints controversially paid Fevola to play against them in that game.
