Cobram police Detective Sen-Constable Mat Prestage said a bakery, cafe, video shop, thrift store, hairdressers and real estate agency were burgled in Belmore Street between 12am and 6am.
Sen-Constable Prestage said they forced entry to the businesses and, covering their faces with hooded jumpers and caps, ransacked cash registers and opened safes.
Police have released still images of closed-circuit television footage that shows the suspects rifling through tills.
Sen-Constable Prestage said there are two, possibly three people involved and he appealed for people in the vicinity at the time who noticed anything suspicious to come forward.
He also asked anyone with further information to phone police, including if anyone recognises the people shown in the CCTV footage (above).
Information can be passed on by phoning Cobram police on (03) 5871 1977 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
