Ring-in skips winner of cocky’s trophy

A COMPOSITE team won the inaugural farmers fours tournament held at Henty on Sunday.

The event, sponsored by present and former farmers living in the district, attracted 22 teams from around the Riverina.

Culcairn’s Dave Trebley, Brian Watson and Jim Lee recruited much-travelled Ralph Fair to skip their combination.

They were unbeaten with four wins and plus 39 shots to head the field.

The runners-up with four wins and plus 15 shots were Ken Hanna and Peter Eddy (North Albury), who teamed with Henty’s Kim Maher and Glen Harrison.

Third place went to the Wagga combination of Isaac Rayner, Mark Pearce, Bryce de Bruhn and skip David Ferguson.

They had three wins, a draw and finished with plus 31 shots.

Fair lives in Khancoban and is playing pennant for Tumbarumba in the Southern Highlands district.
