Twelve bins have been installed at the Albury and Albury North Lavington swimming pools, with the environmental group Keep Australia Beautiful awarding Albury Council a $15,000 grant for the bins.
Albury mayor Alice Glachan said the new bins would save $7000 in rubbish sorting and removal costs each year.
“The vast majority of our population actively try to do the right thing by the environment,” she said.
“We are of course thankful to Keep Australia Beautiful, who are sponsored by Coca-Cola, for the grants we have received, and we endeavour to make the most of them.”
