The bushfire, on Mount Charlie, is now contained. It has burnt more than 45 hectares.
There is an 'Advice' warning for the towns of Gundowring, Upper Gundowring, Kergunyah, Noorongong, Sandy Creek, Sandy Creek Upper, Tallandoon, Tallangatta East, The Cascade, Yabba, Charleroi, Tallangatta South, Bullioh, Gundowring North, Old Tallangatta, Tallangatta.
WHAT TO DO
- Monitor conditions.
- Check your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes.
- If you are experiencing any symptoms that may be due to smoke exposure, the Department of Health advises people to seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024.
Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads.
Affected residents should monitor conditions and check their brushfire survival town.
