A break-in at a Wodonga business late last week was the first for some time.
Manhattan Hair in Stanley Street was burgled at 4am on Friday and a small amount of cash and personal property was stolen.
Det Sgt Graeme Simpfendorfer said it was the first time in several months police could say this crime was out of the ordinary and they wanted to keep it that way.
“We haven’t had a break-in for a while,” he said.
In November, homes and businesses in Wodonga were being broken into almost every day and police statistics showed a 21.7 per cent rise.
The arrest of several suspects had pushed burglaries “right down”, Sgt Simpfendorfer said.
