Paceman Cameron rattles batsmen

CRICKET Albury-Wodonga players might have felt like they were facing Brett Lee such was the pace Merewether quick Mark Cameron was sending them down yesterday.

But while Cameron has never played for Australia, his resume is pretty impressive nonetheless.

The right-handed fast bowler, 32, has played for NSW on and off for eight years and played for Manly in first grade cricket for five years.

Yesterday he picked up 3-24 to be named man of the match.

He also left Ben Kohler-Cadmore with a heavily bruised armed and terrorised CAW’s batsmen.

Cameron said he had enjoyed his return to the home of cricket.

“I’ve played a few shield games here and a few domestic one-day games so it was nice to be back,” Cameron said.

“I think I was pretty lucky to get the man of the match. Simon (Moore) and Gears (Josh Geary) batted really well on a tricky wicket.

“But we’ve played really good cricket all summer especially in the SCG Cup.”

Cameron admitted he felt he had got lucky on the fast SCG pitch.

“I think I got away with it today,” he said
