KNIGHTRIDERS star Matt McDonald rode his luck superbly to lead his team to a hard-fought victory against Hoppers in the Hume Cricket Association at Thurgoona on Saturday.
McDonald was dropped six times on his way to making 84 and made the opposition pay dearly by forming the backbone of a competitive 191 runs.
Chris Taylor provided support with a half-century.
Hoppers crashed to 2-5 in the run chase but were kept in the game by 51 sundries and a solid 28 from Mick Murray before the line-up was dismissed for 168.
Knightriders were eager to return to the winning list after suffering their first loss of the season at the hands of Panthers last month.
Panthers easily accounted for Thurgoona.
