BOTTOM-placed Balldale rocketed back into Brocklesby and District finals contention with an 82-run hiding of Walla at Walla on Saturday.
In the club’s best performance this season, the visitors made 9-155 off 35 overs thanks to a superb 86 not out from Alex Wilson and bundled the Hoppers out for a meagre 73.
Wilson hammered the Walla attack to all parts of the ground in a major return to form after he had managed scores of nought, two and 14 in his previous three innings this season.
Fiery Walla youngster Joel Merkel was the standout bowler, taking 5-18 off seven overs.
Walla was bundled out in just 18.2 overs with Tim Hawkins top-scoring with 17 not out, against some top-class bowling.
In the other match, Rand won its top-of-the-table showdown against Oaklands.
