Veteran smashes 113 to put Bruck in front

BRUCK veteran Darren Petersen smashed a century to put his side in the box seat against Corowa at Ball Park on Saturday.

The former East Albury gun smashed 113 to help the visitors reach a whopping 8-329, with Ryan Cobain (44) and Jordan Blades (42) also giving the Roos plenty of trouble.

Jordan Wilson was the pick of the Corowa bowlers after taking 3-44 from 14 overs, while Ryan Mills and Tyson Logie took four wickets between them.

Corowa will slip out of the top four if it drops this one, while sixth-placed Bruck will move in if it wins and Myrtleford loses to Wangaratta Magpies.

Elsewhere, Scott Clayton smashed an unbeaten 74 to help City Colts to 200 away to Greta; Rutherglen United skipper Jon Shaw took 5-71 to keep the Lakers to 183 at Yarrawonga and Rovers United captain Jacob Schonafinger hit an unbeaten half-century to help his side reach 132 at home against Beechworth.
