HENTY star Grant Forrest is making a late challenge to Culcairn’s Steve Brand for the Holbrook and District Cricket Association’s batting award after blazing a century against Osborne at Osborne on Saturday.
Forrest’s 114 not out enabled the Swampies to reach 3-264 off 60 overs and took his season tally to 395 — 12 runs behind Brand.
Forrest received support from Shannon Terlich (34 not out), Greg Schuller (24) and Mark White (17) as Henty put itself in a commanding position.
Culcairn has already taken first innings points against Holbrook.
After winning the toss and batting, the Brookers were bundled out for an embarrassing 44 runs with the Lions making 4-130 in reply thanks to a quick-fire 77 not out from Jamie Cooper.
Chris Willis provided support with 33 not out.
