Big win continues Henty’s charge

HENTY continued its impressive form in the Albury and District Bowls Association’s pennant competition with a 77-41 victory against Commercial at Henty on Saturday.

With skip Peter Forck leading the way, the Swampies were untroubled in the three rinks and look one of the teams to beat for the grade 3 title.

Forck had a resounding 36-11 win against Graeme Kilner, Glenn Harrison defeated David Barnes 22-15 and Kerry Boyle outpointed Albert Allen 19-15 in a dour struggle.

North Albury (2) defeated North Albury (3) 68-58.

Noel Trainor’s 31-16 win over David Benbow proved decisive for the victors, while Norm Honey edged out Bernie Mahlo 19-14.

Col Dwyer gained some consolation for his side with a 28-18 win against Stephen Broad.

Holbrook won a tight clash against Howlong 66-58.
