A TATONG man on parole for assault was arrested by Benalla detectives after cannabis plants were found in a shed at a rural property.
In Benalla Magistrates’ Court Justin John Degruchy was convicted of cultivating, using and possessing a drug of dependence, as well as failing to answer bail.
Twenty-two cannabis plants were found at a property at Tatong, 30 kilometres south-east of Benalla.
Degruchy was on parole for a February 2006 assault conviction.
Degruchy was fined $1000 on the new charges, was rearrested last week for breach of parole and is now serving time in prison.
