AFL in Wangaratta: NAB Cup tickets sell fast

WANGARATTA’S AFL match between Essendon and Richmond is on track for a sell-out, with more than 3000 tickets sold.

Ticket sales nudged 3628 just before the close of business yesterday and organisers are tipping the capped crowd of 11,000 will be reached before the March 2 match at Norm Minns Oval.

The NAB Cup twilight game is a pre-sold event, meaning there will be no tickets at the gate.

Tickets, which went on sale on January 24, must be bought and obtained from the Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre or Ticketmaster.

There will be no portable seating but patrons can sit on the ground’s bike track with their own chairs.

Gates open at noon, with the Murray Bushrangers playing a curtain-raiser from 2pm.

Game-day cameras and an elevated commentary booth will be set up.

The city’s two Ovens and Murray clubs, the Magpies and Rovers, will share the catering.
