Wodonga detectives appeal for help as they try to locate the 22-year-old, pictured, who is allegedly involved in two aggravated burglaries at a Hereford Street home on January 3 and January 5.
Police allege there were assaults and damage to the property.
There is also a warrant out for McEwan’s arrest for breaching parole.
He has prior convictions for assaults.
Detective Sgt Graeme Simpfendorfer said investigators acted on information about McEwan’s location yesterday, speaking with known associates.
“This will unfortunately continue until he is apprehended. Concerns are held for his mental state and we encourage him to contact us in order to ensure a planned surrender without risk to him, the community and police,” Sgt Simpfendorfer.
“I encourage Jackson to contact me personally.”
Any persons thought to be harbouring or assisting him could find themselves under investigation for hindering police in the lawful execution of their duty.
Detectives said people should not approach McEwan.
Information can also be passed on by asking to speak with detectives at the Wodonga Police Station by phoning (02) 6049 2600.
