The depot in Fallon Street jumped on board to help send donations to its franchise in Bundaberg.
“The workers in Bundaberg organised a fire relief effort for the Tasmanian communities affected by the recent spate of bushfires just a week before the floods,” depot manager Wendi Smith said.
“My heart just bled for them.”
Fastway has joined forces with Nelly’s Niche store in Beechworth where a cage has been set up and donations are already flowing in.
“Now we need Albury and Wodonga residents to get on board and donate to the cause,” Ms Smith said.
“People may have some leftover non-perishables from Christmas time or unwanted Christmas gifts.”
Ms Smith said the donations would help ease the burden after the clean-up.
“Any items we receive will help makes the lives of the poor people of Bundaberg a little brighter at this time,” she said.
Donations will be accepted during weekdays, from 9am to 6pm.
Goods will be collected for three weeks before being delivered to those in need.
