Kennedy shield up for grabs

THE Brocklesby and Tumbarumba associations will be looking to end droughts in the Des Kennedy Shield final when they lock horns at Rand on Sunday.

After being dominated by Holbrook in recent years, Brocklesby and Tumbarumba have advanced to the decider to earn a shot at the elusive title.

Brocklesby skipper James Kreutzberger is eager to make the most of the opportunity.

“We will have a really good, young, enthusiastic side,” Kreutzberger said.

“The boys are looking forward to it.

“It’s a good chance to play rep cricket and gain experience in a good standard of cricket.”

Brocklesby has a strong crop of youngsters emerging with Will and Bryce Swift, Matt Ross, Ryan Kirkwood and Joel Merkel pushing through the ranks.

The 50-over match starts at 10.30am.
