THE doors have closed at Stanley Primary School and there will be no staff to re-open the school from Monday.
The acting principal at Stanley finished yesterday and will be teaching at Beechworth Primary School.
The Border Mail has learnt the Victorian Education Department is investigating complaints from parents against the school’s principal who has been on leave.
Interviews with parents began on Tuesday.
“The Education Department takes feedback from parents very seriously and when formal complaints are received, it investigates them formally,” a department spokeswoman said.
However, parent Katherine Collins believes it is a case of too little, too late.
“The department just wants to be seen to be doing something,” she said.
Her daughter, a fifth generation student at the school, is unhappy at her new school.
“I am going to fight this until the end,” she said.
The department has not given a definitive date for when classes will resume.
