Hoppers hoping for luck

HOPPERS stalwart Scott Ronan says his team will look to ride its luck again when it takes on Panthers in the Hume Cricket Association grand final at Thurgoona today.

After edging out Knightriders in the semi-finals mainly thanks to a clashing buck’s party, Ronan said Hoppers had nothing to lose as they chased their first flag since forming in 1983.

“The club is in its 30th year and it would be great to finally win one because we have lost plenty over the years in grand finals,” Ronan said.

Hoppers will need big performances from Richard Yensch, Brett Pantling and Matt Squires, while Panthers’ Tim and Mark Sanson again shape as the dangermen.

The match starts at 1pm.
