He didn’t cannon ball.
Liam Moon didn’t even jump.
“Dad pushed me,” the 12-year-old said.
While the crowd of 100 or more circled around the kids pool for a count down, Liam set his sights on bigger targets.
Circling the main pool, the Albury boy was put off his task because no one else was jumping in, “so I gave him a gentle nudge,” his dad, Peter Lancashire, said.
“Liam was being a bit tentative about jumping in, so I gave him a push.
“Why not, it’s something to tell the grandkids.”
Asked whether he would tell his school friends of his feat of being the first person to jump in the big pool, Liam was unsure.
“They might not believe me,” the Albury Public pupil said.
Well, Liam, this story will help convince them.
