TAVERN Panthers have won an incredible ninth straight Hume league title after accounting for Booma Hoppers in Saturday’s final at Thurgoona.
Despite finishing with a comfortable 90-run win, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the league heavyweight.
After winning the toss and batting, the Panthers struggled early and were at one point reeling at 5-58.
But skipper Tim Sanson and Tom Ross steadied the ship with a 120-run partnership that saw the Panthers post a healthy 178 from their 35 overs.
The Hoppers were skittled for just 88 in reply.
