LA Trobe O-Week mentors yesterday equipped the university’s latest batch of “freshers” with the essentials they’ll need to make it through the year.
During a bus tour of the Border, mentor Anastasia Thompson didn’t just point out the hospital.
“We also showed them the places to go out in Dean Street, as well as Maccas, so they know where to go to have a good night,” she said.
Students then flooded Albury’s main street during a scavenger hunt as part of O-week activities.
But it’s not O-Week without music and a few drinks, and students capped off yesterday with a concert at La Trobe’s Wodonga campus.
Bio-science student Tom Handley, from Shepparton, said it was a good way of speeding up the getting-to-know-you phase of the week.
Nursing students Gary Burns, from Wodonga, and Marilyn Peruzzo, from Wangaratta, were also looking forward to meeting their fellow classmates.
