A MAN in his 60s who fell down a rock face near Eldorado yesterday had to be winched to safety by helicopter.

Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said paramedics were called to Kelly’s Cave, a few kilometres from the Woolshed Falls near Eldorado, about 10.45am.

Mr Mullen said the man had fallen about three metres down a rock face and had injured his hip.

He said a helicopter was needed to winch the man to safety.

He was flown to the Wangaratta airfield where an ambulance picked him up and took him to the Wangaratta Base Hospital for treatment.
