2.36PM: ABOUT $4000 in jewellery was stolen from a home in Wahgunyah, making it the fourth jewellery theft in the Rutherglen area within six months.
Police said a necklace, rings and earrings were taken from the bedroom of a home in Dennison Street, Wahgunyah, while its occupants were away between 8.30am and 4.30pm on Monday.
They said burglars got in through a window.
A laptop and a small amount of cash was also taken.
This is the fourth jewellery theft in four months and the second in Wahgunyah within a fortnight.
$4000 in jewellery was taken from a home in Barkly Street, Wahgunyah, on March 8, while two homes in Rutherglen had $80,000 in jewels stolen in October.
Wodonga detectives are investigation all four matters and they urged anyone with information to come forward by phoning them on (02) 6049 2600 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
