A BEARDED driver who carried a red kayak on his wagon is thought to have stolen $482 worth of fuel from a Wodonga service station last week.
The stocky man with dark hair and a dark beard filled his vehicle up with LPG gas before filling up several jerry cans with petrol and driving off.
It happened about 8.45pm on March 13 at the Caltex service station in Lawrence Street.
Wodonga Constable Brandon Braybrook said he was hopeful of catching the man, who was driving what security footage suggested was a Ford F100 with brown, white and red coloured panels.
“It was pretty hefty the amount of fuel he took,” Constable Braybrook said.
“We’re appealing for people who know the registration number or the identity of the man.
“The owners of the Caltex observed him fill up and watched him drive off.
“There wasn’t much they could do.
“It looked premeditated.”
The vehicle had a bull-bar on the front and the front-passenger headlight was off.
